“Where Do I Begin When I’m Looking At Wedding Dresses?”
I think before you even start looking at wedding dresses
you need to work out what kind of bride you
are. There’s 2 important elements to consider here: Your body shape and your own taste.
Your taste is a personal thing, so it’s impossible to guide you about this without stepping into your shoes. All I would say is that there are such a huge amount of wedding dress styles available that you will almost certainly find one that you fall in love with, even if it’s not at all traditional.
So that brings us on to body shape. You need to find out your body shape (if you don’t already know) as different wedding dress styles complement certain shapes well which can make the difference between you looking good and great in those all-important wedding pictures that you’re paying so much for.
To find out your body shape all you’ll need is a mirror! Here are two great resources that help explain which shape you are:
OK, got a handle on your body shape now? Great! Let’s look at wedding dresses!
If there’s one thing we know here at OuterInner.com it’s wedding dresses, so let’s look at some of the common styles that YOU need to know about before you part with any cash!
A-Line Wedding Dresses
The great thing about A-line style wedding dresses
is that they not only look great, but are also very versatile meaning that they suit everyone! So if you want to be on the safe side, the A-line really is an excellent fit for all body shapes and tastes. The reason that it’s important to know your body shape is that different wedding dress styles can vary on individual body shapes, but not A-Line! It’s a dress for any bride!
Ball Gown Wedding Dresses
If you dream of a fairytale wedding then there is no better style for yout han the ball gown wedding dress
! This style is similar to the A-Line seeing as it can be worn by all shapes of bride, however it is probably better for the slimmer bride as they tend to feature a figure-hugging corset bodice, even though the skirt flares out and is very wide. The benefit of a corset is that it will really show of your bust and neckline which is fabulous!
Sheath Wedding Dresses
Sheath wedding dresses
are a brilliant style for slim brides as it’s naturally quite skimpy and will show off your figure. If like many slim brides you’re lacking in curves, then with the right decoration or straps this style can actually define places like your bust for instance.
Mermaid Wedding Dresses
Choose mermaid wedding dresses
if you want to bring red-carpet glamour to your wedding day. This is also a great style for shapely brides, but can be a little unforgiving if you’re not fairly toned as it hugs the hips. The great thing about the mermaid is that it gives you that killer hourglass figure and tapers off, usually into a fish-tail train, hence the name mermaid!
Empire Wedding Dresses
A classic style that’s also very versatile, empire wedding dresses
show off your bust, but drape gracefully over your midriff, hips and thighs thanks to their high waistline (that’s just under your bust). This makes this style much beloved of pregnant or plus size brides, as well as those looking for one of the most iconic wedding dress styles of recent centuries.
So there you have it, 5 of the most popular types of wedding dresses that you can choose from for your wedding! But tell us, which would you choose and why?
